We are leading, UK based plastic packaging manufacturers, using the highest grade of plastic materials to achieve optimum results.
Plastic materials, which are sometimes described as polymers, can be moulded, extruded and blown into almost any shape plastic packaging, from solid plastic parts to plastic bottles, jars and containers. Examples of the plastic materials used include polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE) (high, medium and low density), acrylics, polycarbonates including PET, nylons and acetals. As well as those plastics, there are also a wide range of recycled material, bio-degradable material and compostable material which can be used in the manufacture of plastic packaging.
The most common process for plastic manufacture is plastic injection moulding. Plastic injection mould tools are mounted in a machine between two plates. With the mould closed, molten plastic is injected in to fill the
mould, while the plastic remains molten. The moulds are then used to cool the plastic, before being either automatically or manually removed and the process repeated.
In order to create a finished plastic product or part, tooling is required for the plastic manufacturing process. Plastic parts can be designed using different metals, ranging from aluminium to very hard steels, with cost dependant on complexity.
